Patrick Furlong (Political Science ’06)
Associate Director in the Center for Service and Action at LMU
Patrick Furlong joined the BCLA Advisory Board in 2012. Patrick is the Associate Director in the Center for Service and Action at Loyola Marymount University. Before returning to his alma mater, he worked at TOMS Shoes, designing and leading international immersion experiences around the world for employees to connect to the mission of the company. Patrick has lived in four different countries and traveled to over fifty countries. He is a big supporter of the global learning initiatives taking place in BCLA. Patrick is also a keynote speaker on immersion learning, storytelling, and Jesuit pedagogy and its impact on students. As an undergraduate, Patrick founded Magis, a student service organization dedicated to service, diversity, and spirituality. He was also a leader in Alternative Breaks, and studied abroad in Ireland and feels fortunate he was able to develop close bonds with faculty, particularly in BCLA.Patrick and his wife, Laura, have two children Matthew and Maya. They reside in Los Angeles, CA.
