Lucie Everett, Modern Languages major '21 History Minor

Lucie is a Modern Languages major with concentrations in Chinese and French. She is also pursuing a minor in History. Originally from Berkeley, California, Lucie is now finishing her studies at LMU while working as a RAINS research assistant and a tutor for Spanish and French with the Academic Resource Center. Lucie is a member of the Academic Community of Excellence, an Intercultural Facilitator, President of Spanish Club, Co-President of the French Club, a member of Hillel E-Board, and a member of the Interfaith Student Council. She has also done translation and interpretation work on a volunteer and paid basis, primarily with the non-profit Heart to Heart Global Cardiac Care, with which she has traveled to Peru and Mexico on surgical-educational trips to help develop self-sustaining children's heart programs. "I love learning about history, culture, and food! I have studied six languages – English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian – and it is my personal goal to become proficient in all six!" Lucie was just awarded our departmental Elsbeth Schulz-Bischof Memorial Scholarship for her many accomplishments in the studies of modern languages.
