Are you passionate about storytelling? The Dean’s Office in the LMU Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts (BCLA) is seeking a student intern to support college-level communications initiatives. This is not a typical office job—it’s an opportunity to grow as a communicator while supporting and celebrating the liberal arts at LMU. Working closely with the Associate Director for Communications and collaborating with the Dean’s Office and Marketing and Communications, you will help lead college-wide efforts that highlight student achievements, faculty research, alumni impact, and the enduring value of a liberal arts education, providing practical preparation for careers in communications, marketing, public relations, professional writing, or higher education.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Support the Associate Director for Academic Communications with storytelling projects that amplify student voices, celebrate faculty achievements, and highlight alumni outcomes.
- Support BCLA’s digital channels, such as the website, social media, and newsletters.
- Assist with promotion and coverage of BCLA events and programs.
- Assist in the development of multimedia content, including photography, videography, and written articles, for college communications.
- Collaborate with students and faculty to spotlight academic projects, campus initiatives, and community impact stories.
Desired Qualifications
- All BCLA majors are eligible to apply, but must have a 3.5 GPA or higher
- Rising juniors and seniors preferred
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate information clearly in individual and group settings
- Patient, responsible, and organized
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to take and apply feedback
- Proficient in or willing to learn tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Cap Cut, WordPress, or other content management systems.
- Creative eye for design
Application Process
- A one-page letter of interest describing your academic background, professional goals, and interest in applying for this position
