Emanuelle Lagree '26

This summer, Emanuelle Lagree had the privilege of being a part of the 2024 Paris Olympics working for NBC Universal as a hospitality intern. She not only experienced the Olympic Games, but found family amongst the 49 interns with whom she worked with everyday. This experience went above and beyond her expectations and she feels so lucky to have been able to play a role. As a hospitality intern, Emanuelle was responsible for being “the face” of NBC in this global sporting event. Some of the interns' responsibilities included greeting guests at the airport and transporting them to their hotel, assisting with travel logistics, accompanying guests to events and leisure activities, creating lines of sights for ingress and egress of sporting events, and being encyclopedias of information about the events and activities offered in their program. In collaboration with the NBC corporate events team, transportation, and security, the interns were able to create an unforgettable experience for over 1200+ guests.

Emanuelle heard about this opportunity through Professor Flambard-Weisbart who is her academic advisor and who encouraged her to pursue the French major. While in Paris, Emanuelle applied her French to speak with bus drivers who were a part of the transportation team, chefs in restaurants to warn them of allergies, and police and guards at venues when she ran into conflict about entrances and exits. Emanuelle felt prepared to handle every situation. She was one of the few interns who was fluent in French and was often used as a translator.
