Italian professor, Áine O’Healy, awarded the Daum Professorship 2018-2019

Professor O’Healy’s research focuses on migrations and their representation across a range of media, especially in documentary and feature films. Her proposed Daum project, entitled “Gender, Sexuality, and the Difference that Borders Make,” explores Italian film and media practices vis-à-vis the intersecting questions of sex, gender, race, and transborder mobilities. This interdisciplinary approach is bound to enrich the scholarly discourses in a number of fields in the humanities.
