Students, faculty, and friends of the Chinese Program celebrated the Year of the Ox with a presentation by Ting-Hsuan Chang, our Fulbright TA, about the Lunar New Year celebrations. She presented videos about the story of Nián, the mythological beast featured in Chinese New Year Lion Dances, and festivities in the district of Dàdàochéng, Taiwan. Students were also shown the art of paper cutting and each made an ox cutout. The event finished with a recorded performance from the students of LMU's Chinese classes singing Chinese songs.
