Narek Mktoumian '15 works in the Planning and Development division at the City of Culver City. Prior to joining Culver City, he worked in historic preservation consulting and economic consulting. He also spent a transformative year volunteering with children and families at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago through LMU's postgrad service program.
Narek firmly believes in civic engagement and also serves as a Planning Commissioner in the City of Burbank. During his time at Loyola Marymount, he focused his studies on income inequality and transit funding in Los Angeles, conducting his research with the support of the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles (StudyLA). He was also involved in the service organization Sursum Corda, which focuses on hunger awareness.
Narek holds a BA in Urban Studies from Loyola Marymount University and a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois - Chicago.
