Graduate Research Assistant

Patrick Frierson is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Psychology Applied Research Center at Loyola Marymount University (PARC@LMU). Earning his Bachelor’s from LMU in May of 2018, he majored in Psychology and minored in Women’s and Gender Studies. As an undergraduate, Patrick obtained invaluable research experience under Dr. Cheryl Grills working in PARC. After falling in love with Community Psychology and cementing his desire to pursue a helping profession, Patrick is continuing his work and expanding his passion for applied psychological research as a full-time staff member. In the near future, he plans to earn his Ph.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology with an emphasis on adolescence. As for research interests, he plans to study racial identity development amongst adolescents of color. Following graduate school, he plans to serve the public as an author, public speaker, and founder of a private practice dedicated to well-being and self-discovery. Keeping academia close to his heart, he looks forward to teaching as a professor and inspiring the next generation of socially conscious and action-oriented psychologists.
