Deanna Cooke, Ph.D.
Senior Research Associate
Dr. Cooke is a Community Psychologist who for the past 15 years has focused her career on conducting and supporting community-based collaborative research. She currently serves as Director of Engaged Learning for LMU's College of Liberal Arts. In her previous position, Dr. Cooke spent three years at the national civil rights and social policy organization, Advancement Project, where her work focused on organizational learning and development. She also spent over eight years directing community-based research programs for Georgetown University's Center for Social Justice. Dr. Cooke has worked collaboratively with a diverse number of groups, from community based organizations to school districts, and has conducted both city and school district wide assessments of literacy, as well as program evaluations of youth social development programs, novel teaching pedagogies, public policy change efforts, and public health issues, such as childhood obesity.
