Urban Studies at LMU is an interdisciplinary program that engages students and faculty in the systematic study of cities and the complex processes and problems of urbanization in the modern world. Urban Studies students can tailor their studies to reflect their personal interests and career objectives by selecting classes from the wide range of academic departments contributing to the Urban Studies Program curriculum.
Students who take classes in the Urban Studies Program will develop an understanding of the multitude of problems and issues confronting cities today and develop the skills necessary to address them. Graduates of the Urban Studies Program are well prepared for a variety of career opportunities. Recent graduates have gone on to graduate programs in urban planning, public administration, policy analysis, and law, while others have found employment in local and regional government agencies, community organizations, law enforcement, education, and real estate development.
