Political Science Department

POLITICAL SCIENCE explores the forces and institutions that govern the world in which we live. From the policy issues facing America, including its most diverse city, Los Angeles, to the challenges of creating a just and secure global society, our students learn and prepare to be active citizens and leaders. They study with award-winning faculty and have opportunities to present their research at academic conferences, study abroad through global immersion courses, and pursue internships that prepare them for meaningful careers.

The department offers majors/minors in two programs: Political Science and International Relations. In addition, the department features a number of programs to support students including the Political Science Learning Community, Pre-Law Advising, Graduate School Advising, a monthly Pizza and Politics series. There are also several active political student groups including College Republicans and College Democrats.
