Many environmental questions, and almost all of the environmental crises with which we are confronted, are inherently interdisciplinary. The Environmental Studies (EVST) minor provides students who are interested in environmental issues with a responsible background in environmentalism, which entails basic fluency with a wide diversity of approaches to the environment. EVST minors learn to approach environmental issues using perspectives from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, and are asked to integrate and apply these perspectives in an innovative Capstone Seminar. Students may go on to pursue focused studies as scientists, economists, historians, or other specialists, based in the foundation provided by the EVST minor.
Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary program sponsored by the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts and the Seaver College of Science and Engineering.
