The Los Angeles Lonergan Center seeks to fulfill its mission of handing on the Catholic intellectual tradition in three interrelated ways. First, it contributes to the intellectual life of Loyola Marymount University by promoting the study of the Catholic intellectual, spiritual, and cultural tradition through classes, reading groups, and dinner discussions with students and faculty on campus. Second, it seeks to promote scholarship in this tradition – especially in the fields of philosophy, theology, and cultural studies – by hosting scholars for lectures and colloquia that lead to scholarly publications. Third, it seeks to collaborate with and to serve the Society of Jesus and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The Center will partner with the following journals and institutes:

The Center wishes to expand its partnerships in order to fulfill its mission of preserving and transmitting the Catholic intellectual tradition in the 21st Century. Please contact Dr. Scott J. Roniger for more information.
