A student wishing to declare the English minor must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of C (2.0). The minor requires a minimum of 20 semester hours beyond 1000-level courses, including:

- 1 Genres Course (4 semester hours)
selected from ENGL 2200, ENGL 2201, ENGL 2202, ENGL 2296, JOUR 2100 - 1 Histories Course (4 semester hours)
selected from ENGL 2203, ENGL 2204, ENGL 2297
- 1 Genres Course (4 semester hours)

- Explorations (12 semester hours - 3 courses):
- 1 Course (4 semester hours) taken in 3 of the 4 following categories.

A minimum grade of C (2.0) must be obtained in each course in the minor.
