Students will understand the cultures of the Asian Pacific region and their contributions to human civilization, with special attention to distinctively Asian cultural, intellectual, and spiritual traditions that originated in this region.
Students will understand contemporary situations, movements, and issues facing the Asian and Pacific countries and regions.
Students will demonstrate critical thinking, effective written and oral skills, as well as the ability to integrate interdisciplinary approaches to conduct original research on topics of concern in the Asian and Pacific region.
Students will develop global and self-awareness by exploring interactively the relationships between their own cultures and those of the Asian and Pacific region.
