Irish Studies welcomes its inaugural Visiting Fellow Irish Studies, Conor Houston.
Conor is a lawyer, civic activist, and politician from Northern Ireland. Conor is helping us forge a new vision of Irish Studies for the coming century. We are committed to broadening our understanding of the Irish and Irish identity, so that it includes the many traditions found on the island of Ireland. We are also committing to addressing the full complexity of the Irish Diaspora. Finally, we will explore the complex historical relationships between the Irish, Irish Americans, and other communities in the United States, with a special emphasis on Irish and Irish American relationships with the African American and Latinx communities.
