Join Dr. Michael Beeman, former Assistant US Trade Representative during the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations and author of Walking Out: America’s New Trade Policy in the Asia-Pacific and Beyond, for a provocative presentation on President Trump’s throwback to America’s past and what “Liberation Day” tells us about America’s future in the world. Dr. Beeman spoke last year at Loyola Marymount University during his talk titled "Walking Out: America’s New Trade Policy in the Asia-Pacific and Beyond," and will speak to how his previous insights have developed over the past year.
Dr. Michael Beeman received his MA in Asian Studies and International Economics from the John Hopkins Schol of Advanced International Studies and holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Oxford. Dr. Beeman served as the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan, Korea, and APEC, and has held multiple other high-level positions in trade-oriented government and international organizations.
