The Saint John’s Bible is the product of collaboration between artist-calligraphers, illuminators, scholars, and the monks of St. John’s Abbey in Minnesota, and is the first completely handwritten, illuminated Bible to have been produced since the invention of the printing press. The manuscript employs ancient techniques to create a contemporary masterpiece intended to put us in communication with the Infinite. The William H. Hannon Library’s limited Heritage Edition reproduction of this manuscript is the gift of Laura '74 and Steven Williamson in honor of former LMU president Robert B. Lawton, S.J.

Featuring a presentation and discussion with Suzanne Moore, artist and illuminator for the Saint John's Bible.

The full program will also include musical performances, readings and presentations from LMU faculty, staff and students.

Sponsored by the William H. Hannon Library, the Program in Catholic Studies, and the Lilly Faculty Seminar.
