Fourth Annual Hispanic Ministry and Theology Lecture with Rabbi Abraham Skorka
"Chasing Peace: A Conversation with Rabbi Abraham Skorka"
Rabbi Skorka is one of Pope Francis’ closest friends and has written with Francis on numerous occasions. Some of these collaborations include: Fe, dignidad, oración, solidaridad ( Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos, 2013) and Entre el cielo y la tierra (Editorial Sudamericana, 2010) recently published in English. He is an eminently respected Masorti Jewish leader in Argentina whose scholarship has a global reach. The Masorti movement is also known as the Conservative Movement in United States. Rabbi Skorka will make a three-city tour with a focus on international relations in Washington, DC, on civil rights in Atlanta, and in Los Angeles, on how the Latino world is having an impact on religion. We are indeed overjoyed to be able to shape and host this part of the tour.
About the Presenter: Abraham Skorka is rector of the Masorti Rabbinical Seminary, Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano in Buenos Aires, the rabbi of the Masorti Jewish community Benei Tikva, and honorary professor of Hebrew law at the University of Salamanca.
This lecture will be presented in both Spanish and English.
