About The Chinese Circle (TCC)

Launched in Fall 2019, the Chinese Circle (TCC) is a new student organization dedicated to primarily serving the community of Chinese language and culture learners with a non-native background. Its membership and service are open, however, to anyone interested in China.

Our mission is to use fun and engaging events to promote, teach, and share Chinese culture and language. Through better understanding the Chinese language and culture, we aim to promote a more globalized and welcoming view of the world and different customs.

President: Samantha Cheng

"I am in the class of '23. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Chinese. As a third language Chinese speaker, I still have much to study, but I am excited to do so. I hope you can join me on the journey to learn more about the Chinese language and culture!"

Vice President: Eric Rothenberger

"I am in the class of '23 and am an Economics major with a minor in Chinese. I am half Chinese and have always enjoyed learning about Chinese culture through my mother's side of the family.  I can’t wait to share the culture and traditions I learned growing up with everyone."

"大家好!I'm in the class of '21, majoring in Asian Pacific Studies and minoring in Chinese. I have been learning Chinese for about 10 years. I love public speaking, playing taiko, and learning about and immersing myself in many different cultures. I look forward to us all coming together and learning more about the Chinese language and culture!"
