LMU's Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies majors examine the lives, histories, and cultures of Mexican-origin people and those from elsewhere in Latin America who live in the United States. Majors use an interdisciplinary approach, combining areas such as political science, anthropology, and literature, as well as feminist, visual, and media studies to inform their understanding of Latin American culture and issues. Courses prepare students to live in and contribute to a society that is increasingly diverse while conducting hands-on research and field work in Los Angeles.
