-
- Use DegreeWorks (located under the Academics tab on your myLMU homepage) to assess your outstanding degree requirements (major, minor, core, credits, etc.)
- Review the 4-Year Plan/Checklist for your major. 4-Year Plans and Major Checklists can be found here.

-
- Use DegreeWorks to review your outstanding degree requirements and be sure to meet with your faculty advisor to ensure that you are on track.
- Visit the Registration menu on PROWL. Select “Prepare for Registration” to view your assigned registration date/time and to check for holds on your account. Account hold can prevent you from registering, so be sure to call or email the office that placed the hold in order to find out how it can be removed. For term advising holds, please contact your faculty advisor to schedule a meeting.
- Use the “Browse Classes” option on the PROWL Registration menu to view classes before your assigned registration date/time. You may find it helpful to create a list of classes you are interested in taking ahead of your registration date/time. When you are able to register, utilize the “Register for Classes” option on the Registration menu to add and drop classes.
-
- In the event that your preferred course is full, you may add yourself to the waitlist when it becomes available on the PROWL Registration. If a seat in the class becomes available, students will be invited via email to register for the course in the order that they appear on the waitlist.
- Additionally, it would be beneficial to have back-up options if your preferred course is full. Please note that BCLA advisors cannot provide capacity overrides for full courses, though you may make an appointment for assistance in selecting an alternative course.
-
- Using the LMU Directory, reach out to the chair of the department that is offering the course to request an override. It is at the chair’s discretion whether or not to allow non-major/minor students into a major/minor course. If the course is outside of BCLA, you may contact the college that is offering the course for more information.
-
- Using the LMU Directory, reach out to the chair of the department that is offering the course to request an override. It is at the chair’s discretion whether or not to allow Freshmen and Sophomore students into courses reserved for Junior and Senior students. If the course is outside of BCLA, you may contact the college that is offering the course for more information.
-
- You must be enrolled in 12 semester hours to be considered a fulltime student.

- You will need to apply for a Unit Overload through your college’s Dean’s Office. Complete the form through the Registrar’s online service portal here.
- If applying for a Unit Overload through BCLA, you will also be asked to submit an explanation of your request and a 4-Year Plan detailing your remaining semesters at LMU.
- Unit Overload petitions have two additional prerequisites:
- Must have a 3.50 overall GPA.
- Must be either a Junior or Senior.
-
- Be sure to have your official test scores submitted to LMU’s Office of the Registrar. If you have had your scores submitted and they have not yet been posted to your record, please reach out to the Registrar’s Office directly.
- Check out the Advanced Placement Credit page for information regarding exams and their LMU course/credit equivalencies.
-
- Always consult a faculty or academic advisor prior to applying Credit/No Credit grading to one of your courses.
- Students may take courses which are offered on a Credit/No Credit basis for up to 20% of their total semester hours requirement for graduation. For undergraduate courses, a grade of CR may be given for performance equal to or greater than a grade of "C." A CR/NC course will not affect the grade point average. Courses offered on a graded basis which a student elects to take on a CR/NC basis will NOT fulfill the requirements or your academic major, academic minor, or University Core. In other words, if you select CR/NC grading you can only receive elective credit for the course and the course cannot be used to satisfy any major, minor or core requirements.
- You may apply for Credit/No Credit grading by submitting a form through the Registrar’s online service portal here.
-
- If after consulting a faculty or academic advisor you would like to make changes to your program of study, please complete the Change of Program form through the Registrar’s online service portal here.
- Please note that certain programs (particularly those in colleges outside of BCLA) may have additional admittance policies and requirements.
-
- Use the Registrar’s complete list of transfer agreements to decide which university and course are right for you. Note that there are specific transfer agreements which list courses that are applicable to your University Core requirements in the second and fourth columns on the page.
- Once you have decided on a university and a course, complete a Transfer Course Review form through the Registrar’s online Forms page.
- The Registrar recommends that you do not register for the course at the outside institution until you receive approval on the Transfer Course Review form. Once your request has been evaluated by the Registrar’s Office, you will receive notice of approval or denial via your LionMail account.
- If approved for transfer, register in the course you have selected. Note LMU’s policy regarding concurrent enrollment: LMU degree-seeking students may not enroll at another institution while enrolled at LMU with the purpose of transferring credits.
- Once you have completed the course, send your official transcript with final grade posted to LMU’s Registrar Office for posting.
