Program Curriculum

Students may complete an undergraduate major in Urban Studies. The major requires the completion of a total of 10 classes (40 semester hours) as indicated:

Lower Division Courses: 16 semester hours

URBN 1000 - The Urban World
URBN 1010 - Urban Analysis
SOCL 2000 - Qualitative Research Methods
SOCL 2100 - Quantitative Research Methods

Upper Division Courses: 16 semester hours

URBN 3045 - Urban Planning
URBN 3046 - Sustainable Cities
URBN 3047 - Community Development
URBN 4000 - Senior Project

and 8 semester hours of courses selected from the following areas in any combination:
1) Law and Justice
2) Urban Politics, Public Administration, and Policy Analysis
3) Urban Culture
4) Urban-Ethnic Communities
5) Urban Planning
