Peter R. Hoffman, Ph.D.
Dr. Hoffman, Associate Professor of Geography, is the Program Director and teaches courses in Urban Studies each semester. He also serves as the primary academic advisor for all majors and minors in the program—working closely with Urban Studies students to insure their academic programs reflect their careers objectives and/or plans for graduate school.

 

Dr. Hoffman conducts research in the areas of urban planning, historic preservation, and economic development in the United States and internationally. He combines his academic research with professional consulting and community service. He currently serves as a member of a local city planning commission.

 

Dr. Hoffman has traveled extensively as a lecturer for the American Geographical Society and various alumni and travel groups. He was the Director of LMU’s study abroad program in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and spent summers in Mexico for 13 years.
