Professional Bio

Dr. Siker teaches and publishes in the area of New Testament studies. He chaired the Department of Theological Studies from 2002-2010. He is the author of Disinheriting the Jews: Abraham in Early Christian Controversy (Westminster/John Knox Press, 1991); Scripture and Ethics: Twentieth Century Portraits (Oxford University Press, 1997); Jesus, Sin, and Perfection in Early Christianity (Cambridge University Press, 2015); and editor of Homosexuality in the Church: Both Sides of the Debate (Westminster/John Knox Press, 1994) and Homosexuality and Religion: An Encyclopedia (Greenwood Press, 2007).  Dr. Siker is active as an ordained Presbyterian minister in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. (PCUSA).  In addition to teaching regularly in various church settings, he is also involved in prison ministry.
