Dr. Sanchez specializes in New Testament Studies with an emphasis on the Apocalypse of John as a literary performance of counter-imperial resistance in conversation with modern modalities of socio-political resistance. Dr. Sanchez is also interested in the role end-time eschatologies played in early Christian mythmaking and social formations, Guadalupan studies and contemporary Guadalupan iconography.

Dr. Sanchez will be presenting a paper at the Society of Biblical Literature Conference in San Diego, entitled, “The Barrio Virgin and Revelation 12;” he will be a contributor at the upcoming conference, “New Testament and Roman Empire: Resistance an Reimagination,” to be held at the Union Theological Seminary, New York (April 3-5, 2008). He has also contributed to the History Channel’s Production, “Antichrist,” FX channel’s. “Revelation 666,” and the Patt Morrison Show (NPR) discussing the Virgin of Gruadalupe.
