Nov 1st, 12:15-1:30 pm: University Hall 1000

Moderator: Anna Harrison, Ph.D.  Department of Theological Studies

Donald Manelli is President and Founder of Care Harbor, a California-based non-profit that provides free high-quality medical, dental and vision care to those in need by producing large-scale health clinics in urban areas.

Carol Meyer is former Chief Operating Officer of Los Angeles County Department of Health Services and current President of Engineering Health Inc. and Care Harbor Board Member

This talk will address how the role of large-scale urban free clinic events will evolve as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act takes full effect. Speakers will present a profile of one of the largest free clinic events in the country, held in Los Angeles, September 2012, and how this and other fully dimensioned clinic events - combining on-site care with extensive prevention and follow-up resources - can be developed to uniquely support the ACA in 2014.
