Panel presentation titled "The Creative Life of a Whole Person: Mind, Body, and Spirit"

Led by Dr. Debra Linesch, LMU alumnae working as practicing Art Therapists will examine and explore creativity in the healing process. The panel will also include dance therapists and dance artists who will present film and other stories of the role that dance therapy and dance art can fuse to ignite the healing process of the body, mind, and spirit. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with presenters.

Dr. Debra Linesch has been the Marital and Family Therapy department chair and program director at Loyola Marymount University for many years. She is the author of numerous articles and four books, including Adolescent Art Therapy, Art Therapy with Families in Crisis, Celebrating Family Milestones through Art Making and Facing Genesis: Visual Midrash. She developed and currently oversees the Art Therapy in Mexico collaboration with Universidad Iberoamericana, an intercultural training, research and service endeavor. She is currently establishing a research institute within the department.

Professor Judy Scalin was the chair of the Dance Program for 34 years. She served as Policy Board Chair of the California Arts Project, Chair of the National Association of Schools of Dance Accreditation Commission, and as a consultant for arts education and curriculum development. She is the recipient of the Fritz B. Burns Excellence in Teaching Award at LMU (2003).
