Dept. of Theological Studies
Women Shaping Religion/Religion Shaping Women Conference
The Department of Theological Studies is pleased to issue a Call for Submissions for the third annual Women Shaping Religion/Religion Shaping Women
WSR/RSW is held under the auspices of Women's History Month. The theme of the 2009 Women's History Month is Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet. Works focusing on a theme related to women's commitment to the environment will be especially welcome, although submissions do not have to be related to this theme.
WSR/RSW showcases the intellectual accomplishments and creativity of LMU undergraduate students. WSR/RSW provides students with the opportunity to present their work to an audience of peers and professors. Through WSR/RSW, we hope to carry into the larger LMU community the intellectual curiosity and scholarly commitment we try to foster in the classroom.
Papers presented at the 2007 and the 2008 WSR/RSW conferences included:
Women and Alchemical Development in Taoism; HIV/AIDS and "The Second Sex"; Tilting the Scales of Judgment: Devotion to Mary in the Fifteenth Century; Confucianism and Divorce. Works of art were also included in the 2008 conference.
