General information on transferring to Loyola Marymount University is available from LMU Undergraduate Admissions.

To identify courses completed at other academic institutions that are transferable to LMU’s baccalaureate degree programs, see the Registrar’s Articulation Agreements with other colleges and universities. In addition, courses may transfer from other regionally accredited institutions and will be evaluated based on LMU equivalencies. Courses may transfer in as elective (unit credit) courses or courses that fulfill university core curriculum or lower division major requirements.

Transfer students seeking to major or minor in Psychology at LMU would do well to complete as many of the following courses as possible prior to admission to LMU.
  • Biology: Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Mathematics: Elementary Statistics
  • Philosophy: Critical Thinking
  • Psychology: General Psychology, Brain and Behavior
(also called Biopsychology or Physiological Psychology)
  • Statistical Methods for Psychology
  • Research Methods in Psychology
Completion of these courses is required before students may enroll in other courses required for the major or minor http://bellarmine.lmu.edu/psychology/major.dwt in psychology. Two-thirds of upper division major courses must be completed at LMU.

Information on careers in psychology can be obtained from the American Psychological Association.
