The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center (APADRC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides mediation and conflict resolution services to the diverse communities in the Los Angeles area, with a focus on the Asian Pacific Islander Population. We strive to improve human relations and race relations by addressing complex, cross cultural community conflicts and their root causes with community partners through education, training, and development of new models and techniques. APADRC looks toward the future by training youth in the techniques of mediation and conflict resolution.

Conflict Resolution Specialists (CRS) Get training and experience needed to become a certified mediator for both regular and litigated disputes. This is a program designed to provide training and practice opportunity for candidates who are interested in the legal, social service and political sector. You will have a chance to experience the “behind the scenes” work for legal professionals as well as frontline practice of mediation from the very beginning to the end. The internship is open to all backgrounds; we especially encourage candidates with legal, social services, psychology and communication background(s) with bilingual skills to apply. Internship candidates will be responsible for the following tasks after a minimum 25-hour mediation and conflict resolution training:
Requirements: We are looking for candidates who have an interest in community and grassroots work. Applicants should be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented and willing to learn. Strong writing and speaking skills preferred. Bilingual students (Asian languages plus Spanish) are expecially encouraged to apply. Candidates are expected to complete a minimum of 160 hours over a 4-month period. Minimum time commitment is 8 hours, 2 half-days per week Monday through Friday. |

Strong writing and communications skills preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Interns are expected to commit 12 hours in the office per week over a 4-month period.

Outreach and Marketing Assistant Learn critical outreach, marketing and administrative skills while creating peace in our communities! The APADRC is seeking a Outreach and Marketing Intern to assist the Program Director to create a comprehensive outreach and awareness campaign for grassroots level peace education. This position requires at least 10 hours per week, but may be negotiable depending on schedule and qualifications. Candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Requirements The Center is looking for candidates who have an interest in community outreach and creating effective educational campaigns. Applicants should be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. Strong writing and speaking skills are preferred. Bilingual students (Asian languages & Spanish) are especially encouraged to apply. Preferably a Junior or Senior in a 4-year accredited college, but other years will be considered based on experience. Must have basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
