The Democracy Council

 

The Democracy Council, an international non-governmental organization that focuses on the promotion of democracy and good governance throughout the world, is looking for graduate students or advanced undergraduates interested in political science, international relations, and non-profit development to intern at our west Los Angeles office or in Washington DC.

The following intern vacancies are available:

  • Multiple vacancies for interns to conduct research on the Palestinian Authority, focusing on internal Palestinian politics, governance, accountability and transparency, and history. These positions can be unpaid or paid depending upon qualifications.
  • Multiple vacancies for interns to provide daily administrative and programming support to the organization for any of our projects related to civil society in Syria, Iran, and Cuba. These positions are unpaid.

 Qualifications: 

- Graduate student or B.A. degree in a related field

- Proven research skills

- Self-motivation and professionalism

- Dedication to promoting human rights and rule of law in developing countries

- Arabic, Farsi, or Spanish language skills preferred

Internship hours are flexible, but a minimum time commitment of 15 hours per week is preferred over duration of at least three months. This internship is based in Los Angeles or Washington DC so only applicants who can make their own arrangements to be in these areas will be considered.
