Internship Description  Application Information

Once again, Senator Feinstein's Los Angeles Office is looking for highly motivated college students for internships for the summer session.  Intern's play a crucial role in the Los Angeles office's daily operations, and we are looking for additions!

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Interns support the Deputy State Director, Field Representatives and Staff Assistants in drafting memos to the Senator, scheduling or attending meetings with staff, constituent letters, conducting background research, phone calls, document requests, morning press clippings, research projects, and attending events with the Senator when she is in the region.
Criteria: For many citizens, contact with Senator Feinstein's office is their only experience with an elected representative.  Thus, we are looking for polite, friendly and bright
students with some familiarity with the American political system and current events.  Additionally, strong writing and communication skills are a plus. *We welcome applicants from every major.
Hours: Flexible hours during the work week (a minimum of 12 hours/week).  We are very conducive to working with students' class schedules.  *Internship positions are unpaid, but we can offer school credit.

Interested students should follow the instructions given on the Intern Application, which can be found at: http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/intern-program. Application materials including a cover letter, resume, 3 academic/professional references (with relationship and contact information), and one-page writing sample (topic of your choice), in addition to a completed application, should be emailed to internapp@feinstein.senate.gov.  Please have one letter of recommendation emailed to that address as well.
