Los Angeles County Republican Party

The Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC) is a volunteer organization. RPLAC is part of the California Republican Party and is the official Republican Party Organization in Los Angeles County. The county is comprised of 26 Assembly Districts each of which has an Assembly District Central Committee that is elected by Republican Voters every 2 years during the Primary Election. The mission of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County is TO WIN ELECTIONS.

Our Goals Are:

  • To increase Republican voter registration
  • To identify and support appealing Republican candidates for office
  • To increase Republican voter turnout at the polls

Description of Internship Program

The RPLAC intern will be working with the RPLAC Intern Chair, the County Chairperson, and their respective Central Committee to assist and maintain regular Republican Party operations.

Responsibilities will include: Assisting the Central Committee Voter Registration Chair and other local clubs with voter registration and outreach, partnering with local Young and College Republicans to increase club membership and the number of existing clubs and local college and high school campuses, event planning, and working as directed on electoral campaigns and party building activities.

This internship is ideal for college students or seniors in high school who are interested in becoming involved in Republican politics. The internship will be based within the respective Assembly District in which the intern resides and require involvement at least 1 day per week at the RPLAC Headquarters in the Burbank area of Los Angeles.

Time Commitment

Level of involvement depends on the individual's interest and time availability. At least 10-15 hours of interning per week is strongly preferred. Interns who receive a stipend will be asked to serve a minimum of 15 hours per week during a 4-month intern cycle.


Interns will be expected to:

  • Be committed to Republican Party ideals and values
  • Communicate clearly, orally and in writing
  • Have basic computer and office skills
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Travel within the county
