Jennifer M. Ramos is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Loyola Marymount University. Her research focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of political change, with an emphasis on the role of ideas, norms, and identity. In addition, she specializes in US public opinion and foreign policy. Her current research interests include the formation of public opinion on torture and patriotism, and the effects of new media on political change. She has published in Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, Journal of Political Ideologies, Human Rights Review, and International Studies Perspectives (forthcoming). Professor Ramos has a forthcoming co-edited volume, iPolitics: Citizens, Elections and Governing in the New Media Era (Cambridge UP) regarding the effects of new media in politics at home and abroad. With a passion for international relations, she has lived, worked, researched and studied in a number of countries, including The Netherlands, Austria, France, Germany, and Mexico.
