Cynthia Salim '09 Interns with Assemblymember Warren Furutani
Congrats to Cynthia Salim '09 and her recent internship with State Assemblymember Warren Furutani. Warren Furutani is a civil rights advocate for the Asian American community—he has also worked extensively in education…which is Salim's passion.
Moreover, his campaign has taught Salim about real-life politics.
She met some of the most phenomenal people in every field that work towards progress.
"Its good to know that there is a community out there like that," said Salim as she reflected on her days as an intern.
As an intern, Salim did precinct walking, conversing with candidates regarding platforms and recruiting youth to become engaged in the political process.
Salim previously met Warren Furutani at a conference when she was 14 years old and now, years later has made a connection with him as a junior here at LMU. Indeed LMU is a place that fosters connections; building men and women to help others and live out passion.
