Education and Learning Sciences

LMU offers a unique program in which you can earn a B.A. in Education and Learning Sciences while simultaneously earning a California Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential in just four years. The credential qualifies you to teach at any public elementary school in the state.

Students who earn this degree are immediately employable upon graduation. You'll enter a profession where you improve young lives and contribute to society in a meaningful way. You will also be positioned to reduce the teacher shortage that has hampered California for many years, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout your program, you'll have many opportunities to engage with elementary students in schools and the broader community through, e.g., school-based art, field-based science, and community-based tutoring experiences. You will also have opportunities to engage in research and will be closely mentored by faculty members and advisors throughout your four years at LMU.
