The Liberal Studies major at Loyola Marymount University enables students to complete both a B.A. degree and recieve a CA preliminary multiple-subject teaching credential within four years.

The program includes course work in the social sciences, history, arts and humanities, language studies, mathematics, science, and human development. Candidates will demonstrate their mastery of the subject matter by successfully passing the CSET (California Subject Examination for Teachers) upon the completion of their Liberal Studies major coursework.

Students are encouraged to meet with the Academic Coordinator at the Center for Undergraduate Teacher Preparation (CUTP). The Academic Coordinator will help you navigate through the program's requirements and inform you about options for degree completion.
