Aging and Public Policy Initiative

With the coming of the global "gray tsunami," governments are under increasing pressure to provide a wide range of services to aging populations. This initiative will examine how governments can cope with the dilemma of rising needs and shrinking resources.

Governance Initiative
Fellow: Michael A. Genovese, President,Global Policy Institute

The Global Policy Institute Governance Initiative focuses on the quality of governance both within individual countries as well as globally. We seek to promote efforts at good governance and to hold leaders responsible for their actions.

Humanitarian Affairs Initiative

Kerstin Fisk

This initiative will develop geospatial datasets for understanding the dynamics of conflict and refugee crises; and assess how inter- and non governmental organizations can most effectively respond to these crises.

International Security Initiative

This initiative will develop innovative and inclusive ideas for cross-community peace-building and peace-making, assess how states can effectively and legitimately deal with violent non-state actors, and analyze the effects of emerging technologies on international security. 

Pacific Rim Initiative
Fellow:
Gene Park

Using the case of Japan, the Pacific Rim Initiative examines how policy ideas have influenced the monetary response to economic downturn and low inflation.
