The Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts offers an array of internal grants to assist BCLA faculty in their scholarship/research projects and creative work.

In the 2009-10 academic year;

  • 14 Summer Grants of $5,000 each will be offered
  • 1 Bellarmine Award of $10,000 for a proposal that is oriented towards the submission of a major external grant application will be offered.

All tenure-track faculty members are immediately eligible to apply for internal grants. If you have received a college award/grant, you must wait one year before appling for the same award/grant.

The BCLA Scholarship/Research Committee will (a) review applications for each of the awards below (with the exception of the Alternative Break and BCLA First Book Subvention) and (b) provide the Dean with recommendations for funding.

Note that according to IRS regulations, any LMU grant is considered taxable income and should be reported as such for the year it is received. It is unnecessary to provide the University with receipts of purchases related to the project. Please consult your tax advisor for further information and advice.

If you have any questions about the BCLA grants, please contact Yolanda Klishevich at 310.338.2716 or yklishevich@lmu.edu .

The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) facilitates external funding for faculty and staff projects to support the University's pursuit of academic excellence.
