Possess intermediate proficiency in one European language. LMU offers French, German, Italian, and Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures as well as Greek, Latin, and Modern Greek in the Department of Classics and Archaeology. EURO language courses are also available in the LMU Study Abroad Programs in Europe. Once per year in the spring, the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures offers a general proficiency test in German (ZD), which is internationally recognized and certifies the language skills of the student to prospective employers in the public and private sector. It is administered free of charge for graduating EURO studies students with a concentration on German within their major.
