In Fall 2013, the university transitioned into a new core curriculum program. Students in the classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018 will automatically be enrolled in the new core, and students in the class of 2015 will have the option to switch from the old to new core program. The English department will be involved in the teaching of the First-Year Seminar, the Rhetorical Arts course, Creative Experience courses, and flagged courses.
Faculty and students can become familiar with the new core requirements by reading the following documents:
This is a short flyer about the new core, which includes information about the basic principles of the program and directions for finding classes in the new core.
This is a longer information guide about the new core program. It includes information about the general principles of the program, required classes in the program, and frequently asked questions about the program.
