The Huffington Ecumenical Symposium is delighted to announce its annual student essay competition in conjunction with its upcoming symposium, “Icons and Images.” A prize of $500 each will be awarded to the finest undergraduate and graduate submissions, on the topic of “Icons, Images, and Theology in Contemporary Liturgy.”
1. Register for the "Icons and Images" symposium and attend.
2. Submission forms will be available for pickup at the symposium. You may also print the submission form (2013 Student Essay Competition Form).Submissions should engage the topic of “Icons, Images, and Theology in Contemporary Theology,” with special attention to the presentations of the speakers hosted at the conference, and should be between 1500 and 2000 words.
3. Three paper copies of the essay with the submission form are due by April 1, 2013 to Katherine Lash Brown, UH 3734.
3. One winner from each category (graduate and undergraduate) will be notified by email following blind-review by a panel of professors.
