Student Profiles

Karina Toscano (LMU'00), after five years in Human Relations, has returned to LMU for a Master's degree in Education.

Rosa María Bernasconi (LMU '02) worked in finance for Audi Corporation after graduation. Within two years, she was asked to lead the Northern California finance division.

Rachel Gárcia-Cary (LMU'02) is a youth organizer for the Community Coalition in South Los Angeles.

Cati de los Rios (LMU '04) completed a Master's degree in Theological Studies at Harvard University.

Martha González (LMU '04) graduated from the Boalt School of Law at U.C. Berkeley.

Ramon Guerra (LMU '04) attends St. Mary's University School of Law and has been accepted into St. Mary's Immigration Clinic as a student attorney. He has recently taken the California Bar Exam and is awaiting the results.

Cristina Jiménez (LMU '04) attended the University of Chicago's M.A. degree program in Latin American Studies and now works at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago.

Jessica Viramontes (LMU'04) received an M.A. degree in Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University.

Emily Yáñez (LMU'04) is pursuing a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California, where she is enrolled in the Latina/o Family Studies program.

John Christopher Zepeda (LMU'04) attends Cornell University's Political Science Ph.D. program. He is currently a Research Fellow at the LMU Leavy Center for the Study of Los Angeles.

Adriana Aguirre-Robertson (LMU'05) received a Master's degree in Education at UCLA.

Erica Hallum (LMU'05) enrolled in a Master's Degree program in Public Policy at Arizona State University.

Gabriel Leyba (LMU'05) will be graduating from Arizona State Law School in May, 2008.

Patrick Lopez-Aguado (LMU'05) is enrolled in the Ph.D program in Sociology at UCSB.

Elena Mireles (LMU'05) worked for a year in Ecuador at a social justice center and has returned to LMU, where she is working in Campus Ministry.

Amber Nevada (LMU'05), Melissa Banda (LMU'05) and Marvin Benitez (LMU'05) are currently applying to law school.

Elizabeth Zamudio (LMU'05) attends Loyola Marymount's M.A. program in Education.

Alberto M. Ramirez (LMU '06) is currently attending UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs working on his Masters in Urban Regional Planning.

Antonio Plascencia (LMU'06) graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's Degree in Public Policy. He now works in the Office of Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent, Ramon Cortines.

Zuhey Espinoza (LMU'07) is living and teaching English in Taiwan.

Ofelia Medina (LMU '08) is currently a student in USC's School of Policy, Planning, and Development graduate program. She continues to work as an Education Project Coordinator at the Alliance for a Better Community.

Daniel Larios (LMU '09) has been accepted into the Master's Degree program in Political Science at Cal State, L.A.

Rachel Sherman (LMU '10) is pursuing her Master's Degree in Global Affairs at New York University.

Frank Romo (LMU '12) is currently attending the Shape of Two Cities Program through Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in New York and Paris, France.
