James J. Walter, Ph.D., holds the Austin & Ann O'Malley Chair in Bioethics at Loyola Marymount University. He received his PhD from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, and then he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Bioethics at Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University of Chicago. Currently, he serves as a clinical bioethicist at the three medical centers and a hospice facility belonging to the Citrus Valley Health Partners in Covina, CA (Citrus Valley Medical Center, Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, and Citrus Valley Hospice). He was the founding Director (2000-04) and then Chair (2004-09) of The Bioethics Instititute and the founding Chair of The International Forum for Catholic Bioethicists, which met annually from 2003-2008 outside Brussels, Belgium. |

Richard W. Clark, M.D., M.A., is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist - Head & Neck surgeon in private practice and on the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Vincent Medical Center. He received his M.D. degree at UCLA and his residency training at L.A. County - USC. He is Chairman of the Bioethics Committee at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Los Angeles, and serves on the L.A. County Medical Association - L.A. County Bar Association Joint Committee on Bioethics. He earned his MA in Bioethics at LMU in 2007. |

Miriam P. Cotler, Ph.D., received an MSPH and Ph.D. from UCLA School of Public Health. She is Adjunct Professor in The Bioethics Institute at LMU and Professor Emeritus at CSUN where she served as Department Chair and directed the Center for Healthcare Ethics and Policy. She is consultant to ethics programs at several hospitals and the California Medical Association Ethics Advisory Council; a member of several editorial boards, the UNESCO steering committee for teaching medical ethics, and has served as Co-chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Bioethics Committee. Dr. Cotler has over 55 publications and has presented invited papers throughout the world |
