Undergraduate Program: Secondary Teaching

Students interested in obtaining a secondary teaching credential will have to fulfill all of the requirements for the major in English as well as some course work specified by the State of California. These requirements are stet out in detail in the "Subject Matter Preparation in English" section of the Guide for English Majors. The guide is available from the department's administrative assistant or from Dr. Richard Kocher, who is the secondary credential advisor for English majors. Students interested in a secondary credential should see Dr. Kocher as soon as possible, and they should also coordinate their program with the School of Education.
